Benton, KY man facing charge after police say he shot dog with pellet gun

BENTON, Ky. (KBSI) – A Benton, Ky. man turned himself in to police after they say he shot and hit a dog with a pellet gun.

David Morris, 60, faces a charge of torture of a dog or cat.

Benton police were notified of an incident involving a dog near a golf course on August 28.

Police say it involved someone shooting a pellet gun at the dog and hitting the dog, causing serious injuries.

A warrant was obtained for Morris.

Morris turned himself in on August 29.
