Benton, KY man facing drug charges after traffic stop

CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – A Benton, Ky. man faces drug charges after a traffic stop in Calloway County.
Timothy A. Perdue, 53, faces charges of trafficking methamphetamine 2nd offense, trafficking cocaine 2nd offense, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with physical evidence.
A deputy with the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Murray Paris Road and Justice Road for traffic violations on Monday, December 4.
The deputy identified Timothy A. Perdue as a passenger in the vehicle.
The deputy conducted a search of the vehicle and found approximately 60 grams of crystal methamphetamine along with some cash that was found to be in Perdue’s possession.
While in custody, deputies learned that Perdue had cocaine in his mouth and tried to ingest it. Deputies seized the baggie of cocaine that weighed 2.4 grams. Perdue was taken to the hospital where he was medically cleared. Then he was taken to the Calloway County Detention Center.
Records reveal that Perdue has an extensive criminal history of distributing methamphetamine and other illegal drugs in other counties in Kentucky.
He had two outstanding felony warrants for his arrest out of Simpson County, Kentucky.
Perdue had been on the run absconding parole for nearly 18 months with a Kentucky Parole Board warrant.
