Benton Neighbor Days begins Thursday with carnival, food and live music

BENTON, Mo., (KBSI) — Benton Neighbor Days will begin Thursday, Sept. 3, with carnival rides, hometown food and live entertainment.

The midway will open at 5 p.m. with $20 armbands available. Monarchy will perform live music from 8 to 10 p.m.

The Kelly-Benton FFA will operate its Tater Stand during the celebration. Kelly Elementary School will also host a “Dunk a Hawk” dunk tank.

The Benton Fire Department is reminding attendees to stay hydrated and recognize the symptoms of heat exhaustion and heatstroke as high temperatures are expected throughout the weekend.

Benton first responders and fire personnel will be on-site each day of the event to help keep attendees safe. Officials encourage people to begin hydrating before the celebration, take care of themselves and check on others.

The community celebration is presented by the Benton Chamber of Commerce. Families are invited to attend and participate in the activities.
