Bernie man facing drug, domestic assault, property damage, stealing charges

BERNIE, Mo. (KBSI) – A Bernie man faces several different charges after a call about a domestic violence incident.
Bernie police officers responded to a home on Walter Street on May 1 involving reported domestic violence.
Officer tried to find Timothy M. Vaughn, 32, but could not.
The Stoddard County prosecutor filed a three count felon warrant charging Vaughn wtih property damage 1st degree, stealing and domestic assault 4th degree with a bond of $7,500 cash only.
On May 24, the Bernie Police Department receive a phone-in tip that Vaugh was at his home in Bernie.
Officers responded and established surveillance of the home. When they saw Vaughn leave the home he was arrested.
When Vaughn was arrested police say they found about 1 gram of methamphetamine, a glass pipe and a small baggie of marijuana in his pants pocket.
A warrant was issued for a Class D felony of possession of a controlled substance with a bond of $7,500 cash only.
Vaughn was taken to the Stoddard County Jail on a total bond of $15,000 cash only.
