Bicyclist killed in crash on KY-93 in Lyon County
LYON COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – Kentucky State Police Post 1 is investigating a deadly crash involving a bicycle Wednesday evening.
It happened around 7:15 p.m. on KY-93 N between a bicycle and vehicle.
Wednesday evening collision that claimed the life of a Lyon County man. KSP Post 1 was notified around 7:15pm on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 of a collision on KY-93 N involving a motor vehicle and a bicycle. Troopers responded to the scene and began an investigation.
Newton Holt, 67. of Kuttawa was driving a 2002 Dodge 1500 pickup truck northbound on KY-93 N.
Sean King, 28, of Kuttawa was riding a bicycle northbound on KY-93 N.
Due to reasons believed to be related to sun-glare, Holt reported not seeing King on the road.
Holt’s vehicle struck King’s bicycle.
King was pronounced dead at the scene.
Holt did not report any injuries.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Eddyville Police Department, Lyon County EMS and the Lyon County Coroner assisted Kentucky State Police.
