Body of missing Sikeston man recovered from St. John’s Bayou

NEW MADRID COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — Authorities have recovered the body of a man reported missing in February from St. John’s Bayou.

The New Madrid County Sheriff’s Office received a report April 20 from a fisherman who spotted the body near County Highway 806. Deputies located the body and retrieved it with assistance from the Sikeston Department of Public Safety.

An autopsy performed Monday identified the victim as Tim Hale, of Sikeston.

Hale’s cause and manner of death are undetermined pending toxicology results, but no signs of trauma were found.

The sheriff’s office thanked the Sikeston Department of Public Safety, New Madrid Police Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol for their assistance.
