Body of missing Tennessee man recovered in Kentucky lake

GRAND RIVERS, Ky., (KBSI) — Authorities have recovered the body of a 68-year-old Tennessee man who was reported missing in Livingston County.

Donald R. Smith, of Johnson City, Tennessee, was found in the waters of Barkley Lake, according to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation, led by Chief Deputy Shannon Edging, suggests no foul play is suspected. The sheriff’s office was assisted by multiple agencies, including the Department of Kentucky Fish and Wildlife and local emergency management teams.

The sheriff’s office extended condolences to Smith’s family and loved ones.
