BOLLINGER COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — Bollinger County residents are being encouraged to get creative as the county’s annual scarecrow contest returns for its seventh year.

The 7th Annual Bollinger County Scarecrow Contest begins Sept. 19, when organizers will start posting photos of this year’s entries. Participants can submit photos before that date.

The contest is open to individuals, families, businesses, organizations, churches, clubs, schools and other groups in Bollinger County.

Participants can create scarecrows in any style, including traditional, spooky or humorous designs. Organizers said previous contests have featured scarecrows inspired by Frankenstein, the “Dukes of Hazzard” and President Donald Trump.

To enter, participants should take a photo of their scarecrow and text it to 573-208-5426 or email it to visitbocomo@gmail.com.

The public will vote for their favorite entries through the contest’s Facebook page. Voting ends at 8 a.m. Oct. 3.

The winner will be announced during the Bollinger County Fall Festival.
