Boy finds rare blue-eyed cicada in IL

(KBSI) – With the so called cicada-pocolypse in full swing, so is cicada fever!

Many fans are enjoying the buzzy noise as they make!

Often these bugs are no bigger than an inch or two and have bright red eyes.

However, a recent discovery by a boy in Illinois has turned some heads.

This is an ultra-rare blue-eyed cicada.

Jack Bailey of Wheaton made the super unique discovery in his back yard.

They then let it go, but then realized the rarity of the cicada. He and his two sisters went back out to find the blue-eyed bug again.

The family has donated the specimen to the famous field museum, an apparent first for the museum.

This mutation earns a one in a million descriptor among experts.
