Boys and Girls Clubs of SEMO hire new CEO
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – The Boys and Girls Clubs of Southeast Missouri hired a new leader.
Matt McDonald is an Assistant Professor of Communications at Southeast Missouri State University and former Lead Pastor of Gospel Life Church in Cape Girardeau and Jackson, Mo.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication from Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio and a Master of Arts degree in Communication and Media Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, Texas.
“Matt brings a set of specialized skills in his new role for the Clubs. We are excited for where his leadership takes us,” said Interim Board President, Ted Yates. “I am excited about this opportunity to work and help lead the Clubs. My background is in startups and entrepreneurial development, so this a great fit. I have worked in the community (of Southeast Missouri) for 13 years in ministry, so moving into this role aligns with me and my wife’s goals of loving on and mentoring kids.
Kids are my passion,” said McDonald.
McDonald and his wife, Rebecca, have four children, two together and two adopted through the foster care system.
“I have a house full of teens. We have a big heart for all kids, especially teens. We want to help create some of the best programs in the area for kids. I believe as we do this, we will be able to grow the clubs into surrounding areas” said McDonald.
He has hired three new staff members to assist with the Clubs locations in Cape Girardeau and Scott City.
