Suspect arrested for Friday murder in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – A Cape Girardeau man faces a murder and armed criminal action charges after a St. Louis man was found with gunshot wounds Friday evening in Cape Girardeau.
Robert L. Mannie, 57, from St. Louis, Missouri, was unresponsive with apparent gunshot wounds Friday evening in the 900 block of William Street.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
The Cape Girardeau police arrested Martevion K. Curry, 22, from Cape Girardeau. They found him across the street from the victim.
He was taken into custody without incident.
The Cape Girardeau Police Department submitted a report to the Cape Girardeau County State Prosecuting Attorney’s office, who then formally charged Curry with the following crimes:
• Murder in the 2nd Degree, a Class A felony
• Armed Criminal Action, a felony
His cash-only bond was set at $1 million.
