Buckner man facing burglary, theft after ATV, high end tools found

BUCKNER, Ill. (KBSI) – A Buckner man faces burglary and theft charges after the Franklin County sheriff says he stole a side-by-side and a large amount of high end tools.

William D. Basenburg Jr., 30, of Buckner has been charged with burglary (Class 2 felony) and theft in excess of $10,000 (Class 2 felony).

The morning of Sunday, April 21, Franklin County deputies and detectives began investigating a burglary that occurred in Buckner.

Stolen items included a Polaris Crew Cab SXS as well as a large amount of high end tools and equipment.

Deputies and detectives worked with the victim and followed tip information to develop Basenburg Jr. as a suspect.

Patrol deputies and detectives found Basenburg Jr. and interviewed him.

They recovered the stolen property from two different locations in Franklin County.

Basenburg was taken to the Franklin County Jail.
