Burning “pharaoh” display draws fire crews in Zeigler

ZEIGLER, Ill., (KBSI) — The Zeigler Fire Department responded to a report of an illegal backyard burn and discovered a large Egyptian-themed “pharaoh” display on fire.

Firefighters said the decorative structure resembled an ancient Egyptian figure and was engulfed in flames when crews arrived.

No injuries were reported, and firefighters safely extinguished the fire.

The department reminded residents that backyard burns must comply with city regulations and urged the public to report unsafe burning conditions.
