Employees wear green for Mental Health Awareness

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – On Thursday May 19, employees at businesses wore green to show support for mental health awareness month.

Green is the color which represents mental health awareness.

Community Counseling Center Foundation (CCCF) sent out an email campaign and posted on Facebook to raise awareness about the effort.

The staff members also encouraged other businesses to participate.

“We try to push out that people wear green on a certain day or certain days of May and it’s to raise awareness for mental health,” said Michelle Ramsey, the Executive Director of CCCF. “This is a way that we can raise a little bit of money for mental health awareness here to be used in our five-county region but still promote mental health awareness.”
