Businesses rally for SEMO students at Taste of Cape
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Restaurants are uniting to raise money for SEMO students.
“Just really great event for the community to kind of participate to support the restaurants and business, Mississippi Mutts,” said Administrative Assistant Sara Steffens.
Dobbins Conservatory of Theater and Dance hosted the Taste of Cape fundraiser Tuesday to help send SEMO theater seniors to New York City to showcase their talents.
Said Steffens: “Probably about 25 or so, but that go to the showcase, 20.”
Some partnering restaurants include Saffron, Sugar Chic, and Port Cape, whose owner, Doc Cain, was once an acting student.
“For me, it’s a no brainer, the arts enhance our lives, you know music, art, theater enhances everyone’s lives and costs very little to do so,” said Cain.
