Cairo man arrested in Charleston facing drug charge

CHARLESTON, Mo. (KBSI) – A Cairo, Illinois man faces drug and tampering with a motor vehicle charges in Charleston, Missouri.
Darryl Jackson, 23, of Cairo faces charges of drug trafficking 2nd degree and tampering with a motor vehicle.
Jackson was on probation for distribution of a controlled substance.
Charleston Department of Public Safety Chief Robert Hearnes says the Charleston Police Department was notified of a possible stolen vehicle by the Flock license plate reader system on the morning of Saturday, August 17.
Police say the vehicle was confirmed to be stolen from Cape Girardeau.
Officers stopped the vehicle near exit 12.
Jackson was arrested for a stolen vehicle.
During the investigation, officers say they discovered approximately 155 grams of marijuana, almost 800 grams of methamphetamine and other items associated with the distribution of drugs.
Jackson was taken to the Mississippi County Jail.
