Calvert City woman facing charges after crystal meth found

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – A Calvert City woman faces several charges after a sheriff’s deputy found crystal meth during a traffic stop.

Julie A. Driver, 44, faces charges of operating on a suspended operator’s license, failure to produce insurance card, failure to notify DOT of address change, possession of drug paraphernalia and trafficking in a controlled substance 1st Degree > or = 2gs (methamphetamine).

A deputy with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a 2000 Chevy pick-up truck on US Hwy. 68 near Tyree Road.

During the investigation, it was discovered that Driver had concealed a quantity of illegal drugs on her person, according to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.

She was in possession of about 13 grams of crystal methamphetamine that was separated in numerous plastic bags, U.S. currency and items related to drug paraphernalia, according to the sheriff’s office.

Driver has a suspended operator’s license and is legally prohibited from operating a vehicle on the roadway.

She was arrested and taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
