CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Students participating in Camp STAT recently combined teamwork and community service by assembling hygiene kits for the Saint Francis Foundation during a friendly competition.

Students worked in timed four-minute sprints to pack hygiene kits that will be distributed to local families during upcoming Mobile Wellness Days of Caring events. After completing four kits, team members raced to a Connect Four board to earn points by creating four-in-a-row combinations before time expired.

The Saint Francis Foundation said the activity provided a fun and engaging way for students to support community outreach efforts while learning about service opportunities.

The foundation also recognized FRESH Healthy Cafe Cape Girardeau for sponsoring the activity for the fifth consecutive year.

Camp STAT is a weeklong interactive program that gives area high school students a behind-the-scenes look at healthcare careers through hands-on learning experiences.
