AMBER Alert canceled, child found safe
PERRYVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) – An AMBER Alert has been canceled by the Missouri State Highway Patrol for Perryville, Mo. for a missing child out of Perryville, Mo.
Perryville Police Department confirms Aziah Laurent, 3 years old, was found and has been reported safe.
The morning of Wednesday, April 10 around 11:45 a.m., Perryville Police Department officers spoke to a woman who alleged on March 19, she had been assaulted along with her infant child.
The woman told police the father of the children threatened the life of the infant and their three-year-old child if she reported the assaults and threats to law enforcement.
According to the woman, she and the infant child were abandoned by the father at the hotel they were staying at.
The father took the three-year-old with him and has not had any contact with the mother until Tuesday, according to Perryville police.
Because of this threat, the female said she did not feel safe in reporting the incident until Wednesday.
Around 3:45 p.m., the father and three-year-old child were found voluntarily in Tennessee. Perryville police are working with authorities in Tennessee to investigate the situation further.
This is an active and ongoing investigation.
