Cancer resource and wellness expo planned in Vienna

VIENNA, Ill., (KBSI) — A free community event focused on cancer prevention, early detection and local health resources is planned for October in Vienna.

The Harvesting Healthy Futures: Cancer Resource & Wellness Expo will be held Saturday, Oct. 17, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church, 890 Senior Ave.

Attendees can learn about cancer prevention, connect with local organizations and sign up for cancer screening appointments. The event will also feature raffles, giveaways, health promotion activities and a free boxed lunch.

The event is open to all ages and is organized by the Asian Health Coalition, The Hope Light Foundation and Rural Health Inc.

Organizers say the expo is intended to increase cancer awareness and connect community members with screening and prevention resources.
