CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce has promoted Madelyn Ringwald to director of programs and operations, effective July 1.

Ringwald joined the Chamber in June 2024 as membership engagement specialist and will now oversee the organization’s programs, events and daily operations.

In her new role, Ringwald will lead the Chamber’s Leadership Cape and Cape Leadership Academy programs, working with volunteer committees to develop future business and community leaders. She also will serve as the staff liaison for the Women’s Network Committee and continue supporting the Chamber’s Young Professionals initiatives.

“I’m excited to continue my career within the Cape Chamber,” Ringwald said. “I know I have big shoes to fill and want to continue serving our members and our community. We have a thriving Chamber, and I look forward to more growth and success for our region.”

Chamber President and CEO Rob Gilligan said Ringwald has demonstrated a strong commitment to members and the regional business community.

“Madelyn has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to our members and an exceptional talent for fostering engagement within our business community,” Gilligan said. “As we look to accelerate our strategic goals, her logistics expertise, strong relationships with regional stakeholders, and natural leadership abilities make her the perfect fit to head our programs and internal operations.”

The Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce said Ringwald’s experience in event planning, organization and volunteer engagement will help support the Chamber’s continued growth and community initiatives.
