CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Cape Girardeau Regional Airport and Contour Airlines announced Tuesday that seasonal nonstop service between Cape Girardeau and Orlando, Florida, will begin Dec. 16.
Flights between Cape Girardeau Regional Airport and Orlando Sanford International Airport will operate Wednesdays and Saturdays through March 27, 2027.
Flights will depart Cape Girardeau at 9:40 a.m. and arrive in Orlando at 1 p.m. Return flights will leave Orlando at 1:50 p.m. and arrive in Cape Girardeau at 3:10 p.m.
“This new route is great news for our community,” Airport Manager JoJo Stuart said. “It strengthens the value of having a hometown airport and gives Southeast Missouri travelers a direct way to reach one of Florida’s top vacation destinations without the hassle of connecting flights or long drives. We’re grateful to Contour Airlines for continuing to grow the options available right here at CGI.”
The airport said its seasonal nonstop service to Pensacola, Florida, will also return for a second season from May through September 2027. Officials said the route’s performance during its first season helped secure its return.
“Adding seasonal service between Cape Girardeau and Central Florida gives travelers in the region another convenient way to escape the winter and enjoy all that Florida has to offer,” Contour Airlines President Ben Munson said. “We saw strong support for our seasonal Cape Girardeau/Pensacola service, and that success helped demonstrate the demand for convenient nonstop service to Florida. We’re excited to build on that momentum with new service to Orlando Sanford and provide our customers in Southeast Missouri with another great option for their winter travel.”
The Orlando and Pensacola routes are not part of the federally supported Essential Air Service program. The airline is offering the seasonal flights based on demand in the Southeast Missouri market, airport officials said.
Contour also offers flights from Cape Girardeau to Chicago O’Hare International Airport and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.
Cape Girardeau Regional Airport offers free parking and shorter check-in and security lines than larger airports.
Tickets for the Orlando flights are available at flycgi.com and contourairlines.com, through the Contour call center at 888-332-6686 or through travel agencies. Travelers can also book connections through Contour’s interline partners, including Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, JetBlue and United Airlines.\
