Cape Girardeau businesses holding fundraiser for SEMO Pets
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Southeast Missouri Pets is getting help from the community in several ways this month.
At the Acee’s on Kingshighway near Interstate 55 in Cape Girardeau, a portion of sales from pumps one and two will go to the shelter.
NAPA Auto Tire and Parts will be host a “Parts and Puppies Supply Drive” the week of July 24.
This is part of a busy summer for SEMO Pets. It’s been a busy first year as executive director for Jenn Farmer.
“I’ve learned a lot,” said Farmer. “I worked in the volunteer coordinator position, so I worked a lot with the animals, the dogs. You learn to work with people a lot more. You learn to work with the staff a lot more. Staff meetings are always fun, we make sure we team build. We are family here, our staff is, and I’ve learned how to make a cooperative effort to make everybody happy and, you know, just keep the team alive.”
