Cape Girardeau celebrates ‘Dolly Day’ with downtown festivities

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Businesses across Cape Girardeau are being encouraged to add a little sparkle to the city Friday for “Dolly Day.”

The community-wide celebration is planned for Friday, Sept. 25, with businesses in downtown Cape Girardeau, Midtown and the West Side invited to participate.

Organizers are encouraging businesses and community members to dress like Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers or simply wear their most fabulous attire. Participants can also play music, add fringe and rhinestones to their businesses or create Dolly-inspired specials.

The event is centered around three themes: having fun, being fabulous and giving back. Organizers are also encouraging participants to spread kindness throughout the community.
