Cape Girardeau City Council approves building contract for new airport terminal

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – The Cape Girardeau City Council voted to approve a building contract for a new airport terminal.

KCI Construction was one of three companies who bid on the project, with a bid of just more than $12 million.

The new terminal will be built next to the current terminal just north of the control tower.

“This is a very important project like I just mentioned,” said Katrina Amos, Cape Girardeau Regional Airport Manager. “And we have taken a lot of time to make sure we get this right, cause we know that the future of our airport depends on making sure that this is the facility that can take us forward.”

The cost of the project will be covered by multiple grants from the Department of Transportation.
