Cape Girardeau County Clerk’s Office issues new Voter I.D. Cards

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) – New identification cards from the Cape Girardeau County Clerk’s office will be issued to registered voters for 2022-23, encouraging new voters to vote in upcoming local elections. These new cards will be 5 1/2 inch to 8 1/2 inch, readily able to fold into wallets.

With the delay of the 2020 Census, due to growth in the Jackson (12.5%) and Cape Girardeau (9%) districts, the new Voter Identification Cards will not list voters’ new legislative districts until new districts are finalized.

These new Voter Identification Cards will replace all previously issued cards with name, address, polling place, precinct, and the units of government in which you are entitled to vote. The Cape Girardeau County Clerk’s Office asks that you carefully check your information on the card, if there are any errors, if you have recently moved or had a change of name you must update this information.

The New Voter Identification Cards were mailed March 17. Registered voters in Cape Girardeau County who do not receive a New Voter Identification Card by the end of March should contact the Cape Girardeau County Clerk’s Office at (573)243-3547.
