Cape Girardeau County seeks volunteers for Red Cross Disaster Action Team

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — Cape Girardeau County Emergency Management is seeking volunteers to serve on the American Red Cross Disaster Action Team.

Officials said the county currently has a limited number of local responders and is working to recruit additional volunteers to assist during emergencies.

A Disaster Action Team training session will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Cape Girardeau Emergency Operations Center, 3555 Veterans Memorial Drive. Lunch will be provided.

Those interested in volunteering are asked to register in advance through the American Red Cross Volunteer Connection website to ensure adequate training materials are available.
