Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Office seeks public’s help in identifying counterfeiting suspect

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect who used a counterfeit $20 bill to purchase lottery tickets at a local store.

The incident occurred on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at approximately 8:30 a.m. when the suspect passed the fake bill through the drive-thru.

Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity is asked to contact the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Office directly or send a private message.
