Cape Girardeau County to mail voter ID cards to residents

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — The Cape Girardeau County Clerk’s Office will begin mailing 2026 voter identification cards to registered voters in the coming days, as required by state law.

Officials said the cards are sent every two years to verify voter registration records. The updated cards will include a voter’s name, address, polling place, precinct and eligible jurisdictions.

Residents who receive a card for someone no longer living at their address are asked to mark it “Return to Sender” and place it back in the mail.

County Clerk Kara Clark Summers encouraged voters to review their information and update their registration if they have moved or changed their name.

Missouri law requires voters to present a valid photo ID issued by the state or federal government. Voters without a valid ID may cast a provisional ballot.

For more information, residents can contact the Cape Girardeau County Clerk’s Office.
