Cape Girardeau Fire Department awarded more than $10,000 grant

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – The Cape Girardeau Fire Department received more than $10,000 in a grant to purchase equipment.

The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation awarded a $10,198 grant to ensure the department has the necessary equipment to save lives.

Firefighters plan to use funds to purchase three standard chainsaws, one fuel-injected chain saw, six carbide tip chains, a pole pruner and accessories to allow them to be more effective, efficient and safe.
