Cape Girardeau Fire Department quickly extinguishes duplex fire, 5 residents displaced

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Firefighters responded to a report of a duplex fire, arriving to find moderate smoke showing.

A fire was located in a second-floor bedroom and brought under control within five minutes. Fire units remained on scene for approximately 40 minutes to ensure the fire was extinguished.

All residents had evacuated the duplex by the time firefighters arrived. Five residents were displaced due to the fire and were assisted by the American Red Cross.
