Cape Girardeau firefighters extinguish brush fire on South Kingshighway

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Cape Girardeau Fire Department crews extinguished a brush fire Tuesday after Rescue 2 personnel spotted smoke in the 1200 block of South Kingshighway.
According to the department, Rescue 2, Brush 3, Engine 1 and additional fire staff responded to the heavily wooded area on the city’s southwest corner and worked together to bring the fire under control.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
