CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The City of Cape Girardeau has lifted a precautionary boil water advisory issued earlier this week following a storm-related power outage at the city’s water treatment facility.
City officials said testing confirmed the water system is safe, and residents can resume normal water use.
The advisory, issued Thursday, affected all city water customers and was issued as a precaution after the power outage disrupted operations at the treatment facility. Officials said no contamination of the water system was detected.
City officials lifted the advisory Friday after water quality tests returned clean results.
