Cape Girardeau man arrested after nearly 1 kilogram of meth seized

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — A Cape Girardeau man was arrested Tuesday after authorities seized nearly a kilogram of methamphetamine and other drugs during a search, the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies, working with the Southeast Missouri Drug Task Force, executed a search warrant at a home in the 900 block of Bloomfield Road. Investigators reported seizing about 998 grams of methamphetamine, 10.2 grams of crack cocaine and 28.4 grams of psilocybin mushrooms.

Ishmael I. Blackmon was taken into custody and faces one count of second-degree drug trafficking and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. He remains in custody as the investigation continues, and additional charges are possible.

Authorities noted that charges are only accusations, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
