Cape Girardeau man charged with murder in downtown shooting that killed Parma teen

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — A Cape Girardeau man has been charged with second-degree murder in a downtown shooting that killed a 17-year-old Parma boy and injured three adults Sunday, police said.
Quazerious Murray, 21, is in custody and faces one count of second-degree murder, three counts of first-degree assault and four counts of armed criminal action.
Police identified the teen who died as Keyon Malcom, of Parma.
Officers patrolling downtown heard multiple gunshots shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday in the first block of North Main Street. They found Malcom and an adult with gunshot wounds and provided medical care until emergency crews arrived.
Malcom was taken to a hospital by ambulance, where he was later pronounced dead. The adult was taken to a hospital by a third party. Hospital staff later notified police that two additional adults had arrived with gunshot wounds.
Investigators with the Cape Girardeau/Bollinger County Major Case Squad reviewed surveillance footage and interviewed witnesses, identifying Murray as the suspected shooter, police said.
Circuit Judge Julia M. Koester signed an arrest warrant Tuesday setting bond at $1 million.
