Cape Girardeau man killed in single-vehicle crash

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — A 25-year-old man was killed early Sunday in a single-vehicle crash on Missouri Route 177, authorities said.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 5 a.m., about five miles north of Cape Girardeau. The man was driving north when his car went off the left side of the road and struck a bridge pillar and a Missouri Department of Transportation sign.

Troopers said the driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene. His vehicle was totaled in the crash.
