Cape Girardeau Mayor Stacy Kinder releases a public address about the city’s safety

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Cape Girardeau’s mayor released a State of the City address about the public’s safety.

According to Mayor Stacy Kinder, violence has been an issue within the city.

“There is an overall concern, I think particularly issues involving guns, gun violence. Those kinds of issues are more prevalent just in our culture and we see them here in Cape Girardeau,” said Mayor Kinder.

She adds that there are plans to look at salaries across the board.

In 2022, the serious crime rates in the city have decreased by 10.9%.
