Cape Girardeau Parks & Recreation holds ribbon cutting for re-opening of playground

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – The Cape Girardeau Parks and Rec Department celebrated the re-opening of a playground on Thursday.
The Parks and Rec Department held a ribbon cutting with the Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce for the Tot Lot at Capaha Park.
The Tot Lot began renovations in July 2023.
Many improvements were made because of the Evening Optimist Club’s contributions.
The City of Cape Girardeau Parks & Recreation improved the drainage, enclosed all playground structures with 4 foot black chain link fencing, added new mulch for fall protection, replaced a damaged slide, added a new border around the playground, added a new metal sign and poles for entrance and added a sidewalk leading to the Tot Lot.
The playground is open daily from 6 a.m.-11 p.m. for public use.
