Cape Girardeau Patriot Day BBQ set to honor first responders

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Local veterans’ groups will host the 7th Annual Patriot Day BBQ to thank first responders for their service.

This year’s event will take place at VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau because of construction at Memorial Plaza.

Organizers said the event will feature barbecue, beans and slaw, served to emergency medical services personnel, firefighters, rescue workers and law enforcement officers.

The event is sponsored by SEMO Vets, the Marine Corps League Cpl. Mason O. Yarbrough Detachment #1081, VFW Post 3838, and the Avenue of the Flags.
