Cape Girardeau police collect more than 500 pounds of medications

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – More than 500 pounds of medications were collected by the Cape Girardeau Police Department since April 2021.

The department collected 508.7 pounds of medications to make sure they don’t make it into the wrong hands.

The Drug Enforcement Administration sponsored the initiative. Drug Take Back Day was Saturday, Oct. 23.

The Cape Girardeau Police Department has a drop-box in the lobby. No liquids or sharps are accepted.
