Cape Girardeau Police Department celebrates women officers
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI)- The Cape Girardeau Police Department is acknowledging the women who have paved the way for females in law enforcement and provided exceptional public safety to the citizens of Cape Girardeau.
The push for recognition comes amid Women’s History Month in March.
Patrolwoman Paula Seyer joined the Cape Girardeau Police Department in June of 2021 and says every day is always new and exciting.
“You get to help out people and just kind of make a small difference, to people’s lives, you show up even if it’s the smallest convenience,” she said.
Seyer adds that female-to-female, it’s better for victims to feel more comfortable, which makes her role as an officer all the more crucial.
