Cape Girardeau Police Department receives funding for new gear

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – The Cape Girardeau Police Department has received funding that allowed them to upgrade their body cams, mobile units and more.

The Cape Girardeau Police Department gave thanks to the Cape Girardeau City Council and City Management for providing the funds for upgraded body cameras, new Mobile Data Terminals (MDT), and three new police K9s.

The funding allows for officers to do their job more efficiently which allows them to help keep the community safer.

The department says they will soon be introducing three new canines!
