CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The Cape Girardeau Police Department is inviting residents to attend a series of neighborhood roll calls throughout June as part of an effort to strengthen relationships between officers and the community.

The events allow residents to meet officers, learn about issues affecting their neighborhoods and share concerns directly with law enforcement.

Unless otherwise noted, roll calls begin at 7 p.m.

The remaining June schedule includes:

* June 10: North Main Street and Green Acres
* June 17: Cambridge and Princeton
* June 24: Police Substation, 629 Good Hope St.

Police officials said the neighborhood roll call program was created as a community outreach initiative to foster communication and build stronger connections between officers and residents.
