Cape Girardeau police investigate deadly assault on Morgan Oak Street

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) – The Cape Girardeau Police Department is investigating a fatal assault that occurred early Saturday morning in the 600 block of Morgan Oak Street.
At approximately 1:55 a.m., officers responded to a report of an assault and found a female victim who had been severely injured. The victim later died from her injuries.
The Cape Girardeau County/Bollinger County Major Case Squad has been activated to assist with the investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
