Cape Girardeau police investigating report of shots fired

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Cape Girardeau police are investigating a report of shots fired on Hanover Street Tuesday, according to Cape Girardeau Police Chief Wes Blair.

No word on any injuries.

A woman said her husband heard gunshots. She tells FOX23 News that the violence needs to stop. That she is afraid of a bullet coming into her yard.

Public Information Officer Ptlm. Bobby Newton says officers responded to the 100 block of S. Hanover around 7:40 p.m. on April 2 for a report of shots fired.

Officers found evidence of shots being fired along with damage to a business in the area.

They collected the evidence.

The investigation is ongoing.

No reports of injuries and no arrests have been made.
