Cape Girardeau police investigating shots fired after home struck by bullets

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Cape Girardeau police are investigating shots fired and a vehicle that struck a stop sign.

Officers with the Cape Girardeau Police Department received a Shot Spotter alert of shots being fired in the area of Bloomfield Road and Sheridan Drive around 2:58 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 7.

While responding to the original location, another alert came through of shots fired in the 1600 block of Good Hope Street around 3 p.m.

Officers collected evidence indicating shots had been fired.

A vehicle struck a stop sign at the intersection of Minnesota and Good Hope while leaving the area, according to police.

While canvassing the area, officers found a home in the 1700 block of Good Hope that appeared to have been struck by bullets.

No injuries have been reported.

Police are still investigating.

Cape Girardeau police encourages citizens to report anything they may have seen.
