Cape Girardeau Police Lt. graduates from prestigious FBI National Academy

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — The Cape Girardeau Police Department announced Tuesday that Lt. Brad Smith has graduated from the 292nd session of the FBI National Academy.

This achievement places Smith among an elite group of law enforcement professionals worldwide. The 292nd session consisted of men and women from 48 states, the District of Columbia, Guam and 27 countries, as well as members of eight military organizations and five federal civilian organizations.

The FBI National Academy is internationally recognized for its academic excellence, offering an intensive 11-week program focused on advanced communication, leadership and fitness training. Attendance is reserved for law enforcement professionals with proven expertise and exemplary records within their agencies.

“Graduating from the FBI National Academy is a tremendous honor and reflects Lt. Smith’s commitment to professional growth and leadership in law enforcement,” said Chief Adam Glueck.

Participation in the FBI National Academy is a rare opportunity, with only 1% of law enforcement officers worldwide earning the privilege to attend. Smith’s completion of the program ensures he brings enhanced skills and leadership back to the Cape Girardeau Police Department.
