Cape Girardeau police recognize community dog on International Doodle Day

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) — The Cape Girardeau Police Department marked International Doodle Day by recognizing a four-legged member of its team.

Chief, the community resource dog who works alongside Patrolman Newton, has been part of the department since October 2023, officials said.

The department said Chief regularly interacts with staff and the public, helping boost morale and strengthen community engagement.

Officials thanked the dog for his role at the department, noting his presence has become an important part of daily operations.
