CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Police are searching for a man they say is armed and dangerous following a robbery reported early March 27.

Officers responded around 3:50 a.m. to the 1100 block of Bloomfield Road. The victim told police that between 1:30 a.m. and 2 a.m., a suspect approached his vehicle while he was stopped at a stop sign, ordered him out, used pepper spray and stole his cellphones.

Police said the suspect then forced the victim to provide a passcode, transferred $90 through a mobile payment app and stole the victim’s vehicle before fleeing.

Using license plate recognition technology, officers later located the stolen vehicle in the 1200 block of Jefferson Street.

Investigators identified the suspect as 26-year-old Felix Cambelle of Cape Girardeau. He has been charged with first-degree robbery, vehicle hijacking and two counts of armed criminal action.

Police said Cambelle is still at large and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cape Girardeau Police Department at 573-335-6621, submit an anonymous tip at 573-339-6313 or contact local authorities.
