Cape Girardeau Public Library receives Library of the Year Award

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – The Cape Girardeau Public Library has been granted the Prestigious Library of the Year Award by the Missouri Library Association.
The award recognizes the services the library has given to the community and dedication to expanding access to information and resources for all residents.
To honor the achievement the library will hold an Open House on Thursday October 3rd from 4:00-7:00pm.
The library says all are invited to join in the celebration, which will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, library card signups, interactive activity stations, and light refreshments.
Some of the achievements Cape Girardeau Public Library has seen over the year is an expansion of their books and resources. Providing more access to a wide range of educational and recreational materials from libraries throughout the state.
They also joined Missouri Evergreen, a statewide resource-sharing consortium that connects libraries across Missouri.
